Ghana's Justice Commissioner (Minister), Mr. Edward Moore, on Friday (18 October) called on African nations to rally their forces for a final onslaught against racism and oppression in Southern Africa.
He was launching week-long United Nations Day celebrations in the capital, Accra, which will include lectures, symposia and youth rallies. The celebrations mark the 29th anniversary of the founding of the United Nations.
Mr. More said the United Nations had tried to eradicate apartheid, but still faced problems in South Africa, Rhodesia and Nambia (South West Africa).
The Ghanaian Justice Commissioner, also speaking as Acting Commissioner for Foreign Affairs, described the United Nations as "man's only hope for survival".
