Background: Air Force F-5A "Freedom Fighters" and F-100 "Super Sabres" combine forces to strike Viet Cong targets in South Vietnam. Utilizing 750 lb bombs and 20 mm cannon fire, the aircraft destroyed several structures reported by Vietnamese officials to conceal a Viet Cong force of company strength. These strikes in December, 1965, 80 miles northeast of Saigon are typical of United States Air Force contributions to the air war in the South.
