Background: As the presidential election date getting close up to 15th October in South Korea, election campaign is getting warm up.Total of seven presidential candidates, each runs with their own political party back ground, are busy campaigning through out the country.
Retired general Chung Hee Park who led the military revolution in May 1961 and ruling present military regime in Korea was nominated by the Democratic Republican Party as their Party's candidate.Against general Park, six opposition candidates, including former president Posun Yun backed up Civil Rule Party, Chung Huh, former prime minister, backed up by the Party of the People.
Park shouting to voters that to fulfil the revolutionary tasks, he must get support of people in the election.Park is criticising opposition candidates saying that "old evils" should step down from political field since they must assume responsibilities of April 1960 military revolution in this young country.Park also said to crowd in Seoul who came to hear his campaign speech in Seoul Middle school ground that "the surging tide of history demands the emergence of a new political force in the Third Republic." He said to crowd that "the old order of foregone regimes symbolize nothing but sham democracy."
On the other hand former president Posun Yun, candidate of Civil Rume Party, now touring the nation for campaign, sharply criticising the misrule of the military regime during the past two years.Here in Teagu campaign, Yun draw more than 80,000 crowd.He said to crowd that "new evils are worse than old evil.Yun blamed of destroying civilian representative government by force and also blamed Park's misrule made the people's living worse than ever.Yun also said earlier that "Park was involved in a communist agitated mutiny in Yosu-Sunchon area in 1948." Yun contented that a man involved in the rebellion is now with the military government.
Mr.Chung Huh, candidate of the Party of the People said in his campaign speech in Teajon the other day that "if Chung Hee Park is elected to the presidency, the government would be a "disguised civilian government and it will also means the prolongation of military rule.
