    Chinese on Taiwan are harvesting a twenty-foot high crop of sugar cane, which they alternate with rice on the same acreage. The Taiwanese have done much research in seed planting, scientific planting and mechanisation for harvesting and processing. Taiwan is the world's third largest exporter of sugar., and ten percent of the population lives by working on the sugar crop. Film shows planting, milling of sugar in several of 25 mills in the country. Finished sugar is packed into 50-kilogram sacks.
