    LATER WHEN ASKED WHETHER THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY OF U THANT ANNOUNCING HIS VERDICT ON THE FINDINGS BEFORE MALAYSIA DAY ON SEPTEMBER 16, MR MICHELMORE REPLIED: "WE DO NOT WANT TO ANTICIPATE WHAT OUR SECRETARY-GENERAL WILL DO."
    IN THE COURSE OF THEIR SURVEY, THE MISSION HAD RECEIVED A TOTAL OF 3,000 LETTERS AND 200 MEMORANDA. LATER IN THE EVENING THEY FLEW TO SINGAPORE TO BOARD AN AIRCRAFT FOR NEW YORK.
