    A DELEGATION FROM FEDERAL NIGERIA HAS BEEN IN GHANA TO EXPLAIN THE FEDERAL MILITARY GOVERNMENT'S CASE IN THE NIGERIAN CRISIS TO MEMBERS OF GHANA'S RULING NATIONAL LIBERATION COUNCIL. DURING THEIR VISIT THEY MET LIEUTENANT-GENERAL ANKRAH, LEADER OF THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, AT THE CASTLE.

    THE DELEGATION WAS HEADED BY DR OKOI ARIKPO, NIGERIA'S COMMISSIONER FOR TRADE. FOR THEIR VISIT TO GENERAL ANKRAH THEY WERE ACCOMPANIED BY THE NIGERIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER IN GHANA, MR OLU ADENIJI.

    THE OTHER MEMBERS OF THE DELEGATION WERE INTRODUCED TO GENERAL ANKRAH BY THE LEADER, DR ARIKPO. THEY WERE MR OMOTSONE AND COLONEL OLUTOYE. THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE AND MEMBER OF THE NLC, MR NUNOO, WAS PRESENT AT THE MEETING.

    DR ARIKPO SAID HE HAD CALLED ON GENERAL ANKRAH TO DELIVER A PERSON AL LETTER FOR THE HEAD OF THE NIGERIAN FEDERAL MILITARY GOVERNMENT, MAJOR-GENERAL YAKUBU GOWON. DR ARIKPO TOLD NEWSMEN THAT THE NIGERIAN CRISIS IS PURELY AN INTERNAL AFFAIR AND THAT FEDERAL TROOPS ARE KEEPING STRICTLY TO THE PLEDGE GENERAL GOWON GAVE THAT NO PROPERTY SHOULD BE DAMAGED. THE DELEGATION, WHICH LEFT GHANA ON FRIDAY (28 JULY 1967), WILL VISIT SIERRA LEONE AND THE GAMBIA BEFORE RETURNING HOME.
