Background: The first ballet of France's prodigy novelist, Francoise Sagan, is currently running in Paris after a successful debut in Monte Carlo.

Described by some critics as a curious mixture of jazz and modern dance, Le Rendezvous Manque, as the ballet is called, tells the story of a young boy in love with a married woman. She has promised to come to him and does not-- and that sums up the entire plot.

However, as a piece of artistic entertainment, Le Rendezvous Manque is being acclaimed widely. It is due to appear in London on February 18.

These scenes show the final dress rehearsals before the Paris opening. Francis Sagan herself and director Vadim are watching. The music for the ballet is by Michael Magne.
