Leicester City played at home to Everton in the British First-Division soccer drawn on Saturday. The afternoon was cool but sunny. Leicester City, in the all-white strip, is defending the goal on the left.

Everton defenders move into position as Leicester mounts an early attack headed by Wright and Johnston. Weller heads for the near post with Farrington in support....but keeper Shilton has the situation well covered.

This time an Everton attack, with both Royle and Bernard well to fore. Lawson saves.

But now the Everton front-line capitalises on a disappointing clearance from Shilton and Connelly makes no mistake with the shot which is soon to come his way.

    Everton-one.....Leicester nil.

Another Everton attack, and this time Leicester defender Graham Cross concedes an own-goal.

Neither Cross nor Shilton the keeper were very happy with the outcome of that move which gave Everton a clear two-goal lead.

In the second-half the home supporters became restless, but finally managed to spur the jaded-looking Leicester team into action. The goal which was to come from Sammels' boot restored some prestige, but still gave Everton the win to keep them unbeaten at the top of the First-Division table.
