TRANSCRIPT: Dali said that at the presentation he was supposed to have brought some of his paintings with him, but he cut himself shaving in the morning, got mad and refused to show any of the commissioned paintings. This sort of stunned the (INDISTINCT) Gallery people, who had set up what they thought was a nice civilised presentation.
Dali has a heavy Spanish accent, but even if you can understand him through that accent, it doesn't necessarily have to make sense:
"Only idiotic people tell the truth."
- Only what people?
"Idiotic, stupid people."
- Only stupid people tell the truth?
"Because myself, who am very intelligent, never tell the truth?
- It is true that you also consider that in many respects a lie is closer to the truth than truth?
"(SPANISH) - one sentence in Spanish - (MORE SPANISH)."
- I haven't the faintest idea what you've said.
After 10 minutes Dali left.
Salvador Dali - a great artist, and for years we've all been trying to figure out - is he a great put-on?
