    330 delegates from 45 countries mat, August 2, in Stockholm City Ball, Sweden, for a ten days Jewish World Congress.

    Mr. Tage Erlander, prime Minister of Sweden was present when Dr. Nahum Goldmenn, President of the World Congress, opened the proceedings, and Mr. Pinchas Rosen, Israel Minister of Justice gave an address.

    The Congress is organised to assure the survival of the Jewish race, foster unity among their people, and co-operate with the people of the world in the pursuit of peace, freedom, and justice.

    Although Hungary and Poland have granted visas to those Jews who wished the attend the Congress, the Soviet Union has not yet done
    Mr. Goldmann said they would continue to urge the Soviet Government to allow their Jews more freedom, but added that the 10,000 Jews in Egypt were probably in the worst position of any of their people in the world.
