    SIR SAMUEL QUASHIE-IDUM, A GHANAIAN, WHO'S JUST RETIRED FROM THE POST OF CHIEF JUSTICE OF WESTERN NIGERIA.

    MEETING HIM AT THE AIRPORT WERE THE ACTING PRESIDENT OF THE COURT OF APPEAL, SIR TREVOR GOULD AND KENYA'S CHIEF JUSTICE, SIR JOHN AINLEY. ALSO THERE WAS THE SECRETARY GENERAL OF THE EAST AFRICAN COMMON SERVICES ORGANISATION, MR. OMART.

    SIR SAMUEL, ACCOMPANIED BY HIS WIFE, SUCCEEDS SIR RONALD SINCLAIR WHO RETIRED LAST DECEMBER.

    OTHERS TO GREET THE NEW APPEAL COURT PRESIDENT WERE THE PARLIAMENTARY SECRETARY IN THE MINISTRY OF JUSTICE, MR. NYAMWEYA, REPRESENTING MR. MBOYA, AS WELL AS THE REGISTRAR OF THE COURT OF APPEAL, MR. HARLAND AND THE ADMINISTRATION SECRETARY IN THE COMMON SERVICES ORGANISATION MR. EDWIN MTEI.
