Background: Senora Eva Samano de Lopez Mateos paid a visit to the famous marine exhibit at Marineland in Florida on Tuesday (25 February). She was taught the truck of feeding Marineland's three jumping porpoises, and successfully fed them. Then she toured the rest of the grounds.
Senora Lopez Mateos was escorted to the porpoise tank and helped into a raincoat to protect her from the water thrown up by the porpoises. Then first feeder Mitch Lightsey showed her how to hold the butterfish, and how the feeding was carried out. After that, the First Lady of Mexico fed the three porpoises herself. From all appearances, she thoroughly enjoyed herself.
The three porpoises have been especially trained to leap high into the air and take a fish from their feeder's hand.
