Derby defeated Tottenham Hotspur 5-3 in an exciting Football Association Cup Fourth round Soccer replay on Wednesday (7 February) night. Before a crowd of 53,000 at Tottenham's White Hart Lane Football Ground, Derby recovered twice from being two goals down to tie three goals all at the end of full-time.

The match was forced into extra time in which Derby scored vital goals which carried them into the fifth round of the F.A. Cup.

Roger Davies, a GBP15,000 purchase from Worcester City scored a hat trick for Derby. Kevin Hector scored Derby's other two goals, while for Tottenham Martin Chivers and Alan Gilzean goaled with England getting a penalty.
