  • Description

On the third-day of her four-day visit to Tunisia Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother attended a dinner in her honour given by President Bourguiba, Apr. 26. The Queen Mother is the first member of the British Royal Family to visit the country since George the Sixth attended a victory parade in Tunis 18-years ago.

At a reception which followed the dinner the Queen Mother was introduced to members of the Diplomatic Corps and Government Ministers. Despite the revolt in Algeria the Tunisians have not allowed the trouble over the border to diminish their welcome. Now that the Algerian revolt is over President Bourguiba is reported to be going ahead with his visit to London next month.

Large crowds have flocked to see the Queen Mother whenever she has appeared in public. Local newspapers have given the visit from page coverage.
