    Developed nations were warned not to 'bow to criminality' by the President of Interpol a the opening of the organisation's 41st general assembly in Frankfurt, West Germany, on Tuesday (September 19) the President, Mr. Paul Dickopf, also stressed that even in such matters as air piracy, Interpol was bound to be totally non-political.

    During its conference, scheduled to last until September 26, Interpol was to discuss such issues as the narcotics trade, hijacking and the illegal labour market, and the admission to membership of Malta. Bahrain and Oman.

    Three hundred and fifty delegates from III countries were expected to attend.

    SYNOPSIS: The forty-first general assembly of Interpol opened in Frankfurt, West Germany, on Tuesday with a warning to developed countries not to 'bow to criminality'.

    The conference, which three-hundred-and-fifty delegates from one-hundred-and-eleven nations were expected to attend, was due to discuses such issues as hijacking, the narcotics trade, and the illegal labour market. The warning to developed nations came from Interpol President, Mr. Paul Dickopf, who also stressed that even in such matters as hijacking and air piracy, Interpol was bound to remain non-political.

    The conference, due to last until September 26, was to consider applications for membership from Malta, Bahrain and Oman.
