    Monday, the second day of the Alpine Championships was the day of the ladies, 46 aces from the leading ski countries competed for world honours. Again it was a sunny and bright winter day and all was set for a good international competition.

    At the moment when this report is being written the actual ranking list is being revised. Please refer to press agency reports of Tuesday for verification.

    It soon appeared that the Norwegian ace skier Inger Bjornbakken (No 12) achieved the best times of the day. She is the new world champion.

    Putzi Frandl-Austria was announced second, closely followed by 17 year old Annemarie Waser-Switzerland (No 13), the surprise of the day.
