    The Iraqi delegation which left Chad on Sunday (29 July) after a week-long visit brought a promise from President Al Bakr of Iraq that he would do everything possible to implement the conventions between his country and Chad. The 12-member Ministerial delegation was led by M. Chaabib al Maliki, Under Secretary of State in the Ministry of Agriculture.

    A communique issued at the end of the Iraq visit said the two countries had agreed that Iraqi experts should undertake a study into agricultural and social problems in Chad.

    The visiting delegation's working talks were held in the Chad capital, Fort-Lamy, with Chad officials led by the Minister of State for Agriculture, M. Michel Djidinger.

    The Iraqis also had talks with President Francois Tombalbaye. During this meeting, M. Djidinger urged the creation of a joint Iraq-Chad Commission to develop cooperation between the two countries.

    A technical delegatio from Chad has been invited to visit Iraq to discuss the equipment needed for developing the former French colony.
