The general involved is the US Commander in VietNam. He discusses in a lengthy interview the course of the war there and what he sees ahead. The interviewer is NBC's Sander Vanocur.
Before that, you'll see some material on helicopters in VietNam (nothing spectacular). This is followed by film of Westmoreland visiting a front line unit of the First Cav--the U.S. Army's First Cavalry (Airmobile) Division -- shortly after it had fought its first action. He talks to the soldiers, etc. This starts out as pretty corny, but the cumulative effect is quite good.
