A delegation of Japanese industrialists met two commissioners of the European Economic Community in Brussels on March 8. Led by Mr. Uemura, chairman of Keidanren, the Japanese industrialists' body, they met Vicomte Eteinne Davignon, commissioner of industry, and Mr Richards, social affairs, commissioners. Recently, foreign ministers from the community asked Japan to reduce the exports of ten prime items to allow European industry an opportunity to build up its manufacturing base.
