The exhibition of the artist's paintings honoured his sixtieth birthday and the fortieth anniversary of the start of his creative life.
SYNOPSIS: The work of Italian artist, Renato Guttuzo was honoured in Moscow on his sixtieth birthday. An exhibition of his paintings was held in the halls of the Academy of Arts of the U.S.S.R. in Moscow. In his works, the artist expresses his ideas of justice and peace.
The showing of a selection of Guttuzo's paintings also marks the fortieth year of his creative life as well as his sixtieth birthday. The Soviet Union regarded his work so highly that Guttuzo was awarded the International Lenin Prize, for strengthening peace among the people of the world. Soviet authorities said they honoured his work because of its great contribution to the grand cause of struggle against reaction and war.
The Lenin Prize was presented by Academician Skobeltsin, Chairman of the Committee for International Lenin Prizes. Renato Guttuzo said he would continue to devote his work to strengthening friendship among the people of the world.
