  • Description

In Kenya a record coffee bean crop has been harvested this year, with a massive 25 per cent increase over 1972.

With a total production of 76,000 metric tons, the industry earned Kenya foreign currency totalling GBP K33,000,000 (GBP 26 million sterling).

Once again West Germany was the largest importer of Kenyan coffee followed by Holland, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

In its annual report the Coffee Board of Kenya said the large crop increase could be attributed to good weather, pest control and improved farming methods.
