    Conflicting reports on the true extent of fighting in Pakistan's eastern province continued to be issued from India and Pakistan. An Indian news agency said that the Pakistan Army is facing the prospect of capitulation to the secessionist forces of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the breakaway East Pakistan leader. Radio Pakistan, which has given its listeners little indication of any fighting at all, repeated that calm continued in the eastern wing.

    In Delhi on Friday there was a demonstration protesting the actions of the Pakistan government. Marchers carried placards and shouted anti-Pakistan slogans. The demonstrators marched to the Pakistan embassy, where they were stopped by police. Later, a member of the parliament of India, Mr. Triguna Sen posted a declaration on the gate to the Pakistan embassy. The message called on Pakistan to follow a "hands off" policy regarding the eastern province and to withdraw the Pakistan Army troops from East Pakistan.

The demonstrators marched through the streets of Delhi shouting anti-Pakistan slogans and "Long Live Bangla Desh", which stands for Bengali Nation. The marchers also were calling for a withdrawal of Pakistan Army troops from the eastern province. Conflicting reports on the true extent of fighting in East Pakistan continued to be issued from India and Pakistan.

    An Indian news agency said that the Pakistan Army is facing the prospect of capitulation to the so called "liberation forces" of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the breakaway East Pakistan leader. Radio Pakistan continued to maintain that calm prevailed throughout the eastern province.

    The demonstrators in Delhi marched to the Pakistan embassy. Later, a member of the India Parliament, Mr. Triguna Sen, posted a declaration on the gate to the embassy. The message condemned the Pakistan government for alleged atrocities committed in East Pakistan, and called the government to maintain a "hands off" policy regarding the eastern province.
