SYNOPSIS: The two civil guardsmen lived in this suburb of the Spanish capital. They were returning home from duty, when gunmen opened fire on them. First reports indicated that the civil guardsmen were in civilian clothes when they were killed. Their killers made off in the taxi from which the shots were fired.
No-one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. The two civil guardsmen were the seventieth and seventy-first victims of political violence in Spain this year.
