Background: SCOPE: This coverage is of an Armed Forces Full Honour Arrival Ceremony for General Lauri Johannes Sutela, Commander-in-Chief, Finnish Defense Forces, which was held at the Pentagon River Entrance and a ceremony which followed in the office of General George S. Brown, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, Washington, D.C.

An Armed Forces Full Honour Arrival Ceremony hosted by General George S. Brown, Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, was held today at the Pentagon River Entrance for General Lauri Johannes Sutela, Commander-in-Chief, Finnish Defense Forces.

Participating troops were the 3d United States Infantry (The Old Guard), Fort Myer, Virginia; USMC Ceremonial and Guard Company, Marine Barracks, Washington, D.C.; USN Ceremonial Guard, Naval District of Washington, D.C.; USAF Honour Guard, Boiling Air force Base, Washington, D.C.; and the USCG Ceremonial Honour Guard, Washington Radio Station, Alexandria, Virginia. commander of the troops was Colonel Robert H. Clark, Commander, the 3d United States Infantry (The Old Guard). Music was provided by the United Stated Navy Band.

Following the River Entrance ceremony, General Sutela was presented the legion of Merit (Degree of Commander) in General Brown's office in the Pentagon. General Brown was in turn presented with the Finnish Defense Plaque by General Sutela.

Various shots General Sutela arriving and being escorted by General Brown to the fanfare, command presented, ruffles and flourishes, 19-gun salute, Navy Band playing "General March," inspection of guard, Navy Band plays National Anthem of Finland followed by the National Anthem of the United States, official party departs. ceremony in General Brown's office where General Sutela is presented the legion of Merit and in turn General Sutela presents General Brown with the Finnish Defense Plaque.
