    VISNEWS cameras filmed competitors for the two-man Bobsleigh World Championships at St Moritz, Switzerland, Feb 8, as they flashed at speeds up to 56.7 m.p.h. round hairpin bends and piled backings.

    Italy's No. 1 Boblet, crowed by Eugenio Monti and Renzo Alvera, fought a close duel with their compatriots Sergio Zardini and Luciano Alberti in Italy 2. Only on the last of the four runs did they overtake No. 22. to retain the World Championship with a time of 1 minute 23.86 secs. An average time of 44.8 m.p.h. over the one mile course.

    In third place was the American No. 1 crew of Arthur Tyler and Lieut.Tom Butler. Best British performance was recorded by H.Taylor and R.Dixon in Britain's No.2 who finished joint seventh with Austria's No. 2. crew.

    Seventeen teams from eleven nations competed in this years event.
