  • Description

A large crowd gathered in the 19th April outside the US Embassy in San Salvador, to protest the "brutal aggression yanqui" against the "amigos" in Cuba.

The demonstration then went to the Parque Libertad in the centre of the capital of El Salvador, the tiny republic between Guatemala, British Honduras, and Nicaragua, each of which countries has been suspected and accused of harbouring anti-castro forces.

From the entire population of San Salvador of a quart of a million, our reporter, in San Salvador, tells us that not more than 3,000 people turned out for these demonstrations - mostly from the lower paid worker class.

As usual there were the cries of "Cuba si - yanqui no" that typify these events.
