The nine Chinese commercial workers and journalists -- Wang Yao-ting, Hou Fa-tseng, Wang Wei-chen, Ma Yao-tseng, Wang Chih, Su Tzu-ping, Chu Ching-tung, Sung Kuei-pao and Chang Pao-sheng -- who were unwarrantedly imprisoned and persecuted for more than a year by the Brazilian authorities at the behest of the US imperialists triumphantly returned to Peking on April 21st.

They were welcomed home at the airport by Vice-Premier Li Hsien-nien, other leading personages, their families and several thousand people from all walks of life. Many foreign friends in Peking were also at the airport to meet them.

A speech was made by Vice-Premier Li Hsien-nien at the airport. He declared that this anti-China plot engineered by US imperialism in Brazil has fallen flat. The policies of aggression and war pursued by US imperialism in many parts of the world is receiving one shame-defeat after another. The Chinese people, he says, will unite still closer with people all over the world and will continue to do everything within our power to give firm and unqualified support to the Vietnamese people in their great struggle against US aggression and for national salvation and to drive out the US aggressors until not a single one of them remained on the sacred territory of Vietnam.

Speaking on behalf of the nine Chinese Hou-Fa-tseng their determination to expose to the world the most ??? crime of US imperialism and its lackeys in subjecting them to persecution.

He registered their strong protest against the 'explosion' order of the Brazilian authorities. Hou Fa-tseng also expressed deep gratitude and respect to Dr. Sobral Pinto, who defended the nine Chinese in court; to the international group of lawyers headed by Mr. Kunisuke Nagano; and to all the foreign governments and friends who had shown solidarity with them.
