    The Head of the Viet Cong's political wing, Nguyen Huu Tho, arrived in the Tanzanian capital, Dar Es Salaam, Tuesday (25 September) to being a five-day State visit. He was greeted by President Julius Nyerere, First Vice-President Aboud Jumbe and Prime Minister Rashidi Kawawa.

    Mr. The, President of the Central Committee of the South Vietnamese National Liberation Front, lead a delegation of 23-members which was to held talks with Tanzanian officials.

    SYNOPSIS: Crowds wait at Dar Es Salaam Airport Tuesday for the arrival of the Head of the Viet Cong's political wing, Nguyen Huu Tho, on a State Visit...Tanzania's President Julius Nyerere was accompanied by First Vice-President Abound Jumbe and Prime Minister Rashidi Kawawa in welcoming the visiting Vietnamese leader.

    Mr. Tho received a warm welcome, Hundreds of children with Viet Cong flags, and posters steed by to give their greeting to the visiting dignitary. Mr. Tho is President of the Central Committee of the South Vietnamese National Liberation Front.

    Introductions to members of the Tanzanian diplomatic corps were a part of the formal ceremonies. Mr. Tho was leading a twenty-three member delegation on the visit to Tanzania. They were to hold extensive talks with Tanzanian officials...But the welcome was not all formal. Mr. Tho was able to watch performances of traditional music and dancing.

    Mr. Tho was to tour various parts of Tanzania during his five-day visit.
