Continuing the work of famous British Professor Allan J.B. Wace of Cambridge, Lord William Taylor?
Continuing the work of famous British Professor Allan J.B. Wace of Cambridge, Lord William Taylor of Cambridge University too, excavated the undug ruins of the area west of the Palace of Agamemnon inside the Citadel of Mycenae. The British Expedition under Lord William who is assisted by Mrs. French, daughter of the late professor Wace, expects to unveil many obscure points of the ancient mycenaic period. The works are being carried out jointly by the British and the Greek Archaeological Department of the Ministry of Education. The found inscriptions on walls and the many tablets discovered previously give important information as far as the almost unknown historic period of Mycenae is concerned. The british contribution in these excavations is much appreciated by Greek archaeologists. It is noteworthy that the widow of late Prof. Wace is also following the excavation and supervises the works on the spot together with her daughter and Lord William and a group of 12 other British members.
