    Richard Milhous Nixon, re-elected to a second torn as President of the United States on Monday (November 7), addressed a rally of his campaign workers and supporters at the Shoreham Hotel in Washington in the early hours of yesterday (Tuesday) morning - after the early election returns left no doubt that he was the winner of the election.

    A few minutes earlier he had addressed the nation from the White House - in a restrained speech he spoke of the goals for the future, of peace in the world, of the unification of all sectors of United States life. But, at the rally, he was more ebullient and inclined to celebrate his over-whelming victory. In his speech, he said:
    SYNOPSIS: In the early hours of Tuesday morning, supporters of President Nixon, celebrating his over-whelming victory in the United States Presidential elections.

    One prominent Nixon campaigner was singer Frank Sinatra, who could not restrain his joy
    Then the moment they were all waiting for - the arrival of the victorious second-term President, Richard Milhous Nixon.

    President Nixon's final tally of sixty-one per cent of the vote - is second only in U.S. history to the majority gained by Franklin Roosevelt on his second election.
