The West Germans had a light run and then let it be known they had detected flaws in Holland's play after watching a film of their match against Brazil. Holland beat Brazil two-nil, but according to the West Germans the Dutch have flags in defence.

After beating the title holders Brazil the night before, the players were allowed to relax and many didn't go to bed before two in the morning. Some we nursing bruises received in the clash which put the Dutch into the final against West Germany. Security was tight at the training camp in Hiltrup as the players had a very light run.

Otherwise the team is fully recovered from a particularly brutal match against the former title holders.

The players were happy to sign autographs, but police were never far away. The West Germans were in high spirits and are confident they can win the World Cup for the first time since 1954 when they beast Hungary in the final.
