    CHANCELLOR KURT KIESINGER TODAY (MONDAY) REJECTED EASTERN EUROPEAN ALLEGATIONS THAT WEST GERMANY SOUGHT REVENGE FOR THE OUTCOME OF WORLD WAR TWO. HE TOLD A 1ST MAY FREEDOM DEMONSTRATION IN WEST BERLIN NO GERMAN WANTED REVENGE AND RETALIATION.

    DR KIESINGER STRESSED: "THE MAINTENANCE OF PEACE IS THE WISH OF ALL PEOPLES.....THEREFORE THE WILL TO PEACE AND UNDERSTANDING AMONG PEOPLE IS THE FIRST WORD AND BASIC DESIRE OF THE FOREIGN POLICY OF THIS GOVERNMENT."
    THE WEST GERMAN CHANCELLOR REITERATED THAT BERLIN, "THE OUTPOST OF FREEDOM," WANT TO BE THE BRIDGE BETWEEN TWO HOSTILE WORLDS.

    "ONE DAY," HE SAID, "WE HOPE WE SHALL SEE A I MAY ON WHICH THE POPULATION OF ALL BERLIN WILL CELEBRATE ON THIS SQUARE THE GREAT HOUR OF FREEDOM AND PEACE IN A UNITED FATHERLAND. IN A EUROPE AT PEACE."
    MORE THAN 250,000 WEST BERLINERS TOOK PART IN THE DEMONSTRATION WHILE BARELY A KILOMETRE (HALF-A-MILE) AWAY EAST GERMAN SOLDIERS PARADED THROUGH THE STREETS OF EAST BERLIN.
