Background: Visnew filmed Doctor Otto John former West German Security Chief as he walked the quay side at Dover with a British policeman and was escorted on board the Dov-er-Ostend ferry.

Despite the pleas of his wife Mrs. Lucie John of Hampstead, London, that her husband be allowed to enter Britain the alien's Department ordered him to be shipped back to the Continent.

An official of the Foreign Office has said that Doctor John's position is being considered.

On board the Belgian Cross-Channel steamer 'Prince Phillippe' doctor John is reported as saying "I shant try to get back to England until I know in advance I can land there".

In 1956 after going to East Germany and then returning to West Germany, Otto John was found guilty of treason and sentenced to four years penal servitude.

It is not expected that he will be allowed in Belgium.
