Background: The Irish golfers O'Connor and Bradshaw who won the giant Canada Cup trophy in Mexico City returned home Nov 26 without it. The authorities in Mexico would not allow it out of the country.
The Canada Cup - the size of a kettle drum - was theirs for winning the 72-hole Tournament from golfers of 31 nations.
Christy O'Connor and Harry Bradshaw will have some souvenir of their victory apart from photographs: the Southern Branch of the Irish Professional Golfers' Association decided Nov. 24 to make a special presentation on their return.
