    Background: SUVA, FIJI

Rain failed to dampen a colourful passing-out parade of 300 Fijian troops who will join the United Nations peacekeeping force in sinai. The Minister for Home Affairs, Ratu William Toganivalu, inspected the troops at the parade in Suva, the Fijian capital. Hundreds of the soldiers' friends and relatives attended the ceremony, at the Royal Fiji Military Forces headquarters. The soldiers are due to leave for the Sinai in March and the contingent will initially be under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Jim Sanday.
