    Background: The Australian Prime Minister, Mr. Malcolm Fraser, has arrived in Jakarta to hold talks with President Suharto of Indonesia. During Mr. Fraser's visit to Indonesia he will hold talks with President Suharto aimed at strengthening bilateral and regional co-operation. The two leaders will also discuss difference between their countries, including the recent Indonesian annexation of East Timor.

    According to Reuters News Agency, Mr. Fraser and President Suharto ???ll also look into the possibility of increasing Indonesia's exports of Australia in order to reduce the huge trade deficit between the two countries.......a deficit that is well in Australia's favour.

    At the Presidential Palace in Jakarta, Mr. Fraser met other leading member of the Indonesian government. Mr. Fraser said he was conscious of the contribution which Australian private investment could make to the growth of Asian countries. The Australian Prime Minister said he would encourage such investment.
