    Alhaji Ahmadu, Sarduana of Sokoto, the Premier of Northern Nigeria, was dressed in colourful nigerian garb for the ceremony - Alec Guinness (now Sir Alec, of course) (British actor and star of the recent award winning film The Bridge on the River Kwai) wore a conventional morning suit with top hat.
