Ghana's Minister of Youth and Rural Development, Mr. Munufie, and the Resident Representative of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), Mr. Gordon Menzies, signed an agreement in Accra on Tuesday (July 7) giving the go-ahead for a West African Seminar on the development of rural life and institutions to be held in Ghana later this month.
After signing the agreement, Mr. Munufie said that he hoped that the seminar would teach them practices beneficial to the country; while Mr. Manzies expressed the hope that the seminar would become a monument to the partnership between the government of Ghana and the ECA.
Some 60 participants are expected to attend the seminar which will take place at the University of Ghana, in Legon, from the 22nd to the 31st of this month. Among the delegates will be scientists and experts in rural development - who, it is said, will create the rare opportunity of confronting theory with practice.
