Background: A delegation of the Organisation of African Unity is visiting India to seek closer ties between the sub-continent and the member nations of the Organisation.
The Tanzanian Foreign Minister, Mr. John Malecela, leads the delegation.
Members have so far held talks with foreign affairs officials and paid a call on the Prime Minister, Mrs. Indira Gandhi.
Mr. Malecela told newsman the OAU was in favour of closer economic and technical ties with India. He said the Organisation welcomed the support given by India to the African liberation movements. He also indicated that the fight against the white regime in Rhodesia would be intensified.
