Background: The King and Queen of Denmark welcomed King Bhumipol and Queen Sirikit of Thailand when they arrived at Kastrup Airport, Copenhagen, Sept 6, in pouring rain.
The Thai Royal couple will spend 3 days in Denmark - a country that has varied economic ties with their own. Several large Danish companies have their main Eastern offices in Thailand; Danish officers have helped train the Thai army and navy, and Danish fishermen have visited Thailand showing modern fishing techniques. King Bhumibol is scheduled to see the Danish Atomic research Station at Risoe, and his queen will visit several hospitals.
Later this month, they will go on to Norway and Sweden. They have already visited Britain, as part of a European tour that began June 15, when they arrived in Switzerland, "base" for the summer.
