    More than ten thousand students from the University of Havana and secondary schools demonstrated form the steps of the - University to the site where the first student was killed in 1953 by the Batista regime expressing their condemnation for the murder of 4 students at Kent, Ohio by National Guard troops.

    At the same time the Havana students expressed their repulse against the brutal and coward invasion on Cambodia following Richard Nixon's escalade of the Indochina War. The demonstrators beared posters with giant pictures of the Kent students Jeffrey G. Miller, William Schneider, Allison Krause and Sandy Lee Schuer. Also against the war in Cambodia and U/S/aggression.

    Heading the demonstration were four coffins symbolic of the four kent University martyrs.

    At the place where Ruben Batista, the first student murdered by the Batista regime (no relation), the demonstration stopped and there a speech was delivered by Celia Ojeda, General Secretary of the Student Organization UJC-FEU from the Faculty of Humanities, Havana University and member of the Univ. Committee.
