    World Champion racing driver Jack Brabham, of Australia, was presented with a gold star award from his rivals in the British Racing Drivers Club, Sept 5, at a cocktail party in London. The party was in honour of Brabham's second successive world championship win.

    He arrived at the party in his Cooper racing car which was pushed onto the floor. Talking about his achievement Brabham said SOF "My only job in the Cooper team was to circulate the motor car around the circuit". Brabham won the gold star for the first time last year.

    A telegram from the Duke of Edinburgh - the club's President in Chief - arrived with the Duke's congratulations. Racing driver Graham Hill presented the World Champion and his wife with a silver cigarette box from the British drivers.
