Background: Some of the newest most colourful young fashions fell under the spotlight at an open air fashion parade in Kabulonga(Zambia) on Saturday(18 August).
The clothes, collected from the wide range at Lusaka's 'Nearly New Shop' were modelled by members of the local branch of the Young Women's Christian Association and their children, and depicted what the organisers called 'Young Women The World Over.'
After the colourful parade int he spacious gardens of branch chairman Mrs. Macaninga, one of Kabulonga's foremost models Margot presented her mannequins with the new season's creations.
While local fashion expert Mrs. Ceciwa Knonje described each garment, the rhythmic music of the Big Gold Six, the well known band from Kabulonga's Ridgeway Hotel filled the warm air.
All the money from the well attended function, including the takings from the crafts and exotic cake stalls and the well patronised raffles went towards the fund raising appeal by the YWCA.
