  • Description

The national football team of Niger played a friendly match on Monday (10 November) against the visiting Chinese team of Tchin-Sin in the national Stadium in the Niger capital, Niamey. The home team had to concede to the superiority of the Chinese who won the match 2-1.

The Tchin-Sin attack proved devastatingly strong, especially in the second half. Throughout the match the visitors gave a brilliant display of the best Asiatic football, based on short passes, and precise ball control. Their attacking players managed to break through the lines of Niger defenders time and time again.

Nevertheless it was only in the twenty-ninth minute of the game that the Chinese opened the scoring with a goal from Lien Tchin Tchang, a mid-field player.

In the second half the Niger attack had pulled themselves together to some extent and they were able to worry the Chinese defence with more aggressive forays towards their opponents' goal. This effort was largely helped by Saidou Patit Diasse.

In the fifty-first minute of the game, Boula was brought down in front of the Chinese goal by a Chinese defender. Niger were awarded a penalty from which they scored their only goal, and drew the score level at 1-1. This put new heart into the home team, and the players threw themselves into the game with much more vigour.

However, despite the numerous attacks on the Chinese goal, the home said were frustrated by the superb goal-keeping of Wang Tching Yin. It was largely due to him that the Chinese were able to chalk up a victory. He managed to make some spectacular saves from some accurate Niger shooting.

Tchin-Sin's second goal was once again scored by Lien Tchin Tchang in the sixty-ninth minute, giving the Chinese a 2-1 lead. That was the final score at the whistle, despite a good Niger attack that was mounted in the dying moments of the match.
