Background: Rare film Albania, where larders of Prince Sihanouk's Cambodian government in exile embarked on a round of discussions and sightseeing this week. The visitors were led by Mr. Khieu Samphan, Deputy Prime Minister and Defence Minister in the Royal Government of the National Union of Cambodia.
Albanian Chairman of the Council of Ministers Mehmet Shehu welcomed the guests at the airport, and also headed the Albanian side at the first round of talks later the same day on Sunday (20 April).
At a subsequent banquet, he spoke with admiration of the struggle of Prince Sihanouk's supporters against the Khmer government of President Lon Nol. They had the continuing support of the Albanian people, he added, and he went on to condemn both the superpowers for "hatching despicable plots" against the Cambodian people.
