Delegates from ten Arab countries met in Cairo, Mar. 21, to take part in the 35-th session of the Arab League Council. Those represented were: United Arab Republic, Iraq, The Lebanon, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Morocco, Sudan, Jordan, Tunisia and a delegation from the rebel FLN Algerian Government.
Opening the session the League's Secretary-General, El Sayed Khalek Hassuna of the U.A.R., gave a summary of events and developments in the Arab region and changes in the international situation since the last meeting. After the address by the Secretary-General the session continued in private.
One of the main topics of the day was the new moves by the French Government to hold peace talks with the FLN. Another was the increased co-operation between Israel and Iran.
