    BOTH MEN - MR. TURNER AND MR. A.J. QUIN-HARKIN, FORMER CHIEF ACCOUNTANT OF IMPERIAL AIRWAYS - WERE GUESTS AT A DINNER IN LONDON GIVEN BY SIR GILES GUTHRIE AND THE BOARD OF BOAC TO CELEBRATE MR. TURNER'S 30TH ANNIVERSARY AS AN AVIATION EXECUTIVE.

    MR. TURNER WAS THE YOUNG MAN CHOSEN BY MR. QUIN-HARKIN AS CHIEF ACCOUNTANT OF QANTAS EMPIRE AIRWAYS, THE NEW AIRLINE FORMED BY IMPERIAL AIRWAYS AND QUEENSLAND AND NORTHERN TERRITORY AERIAL SERVICES TO OPERATE PART OF THE FIRST ENGLAND-AUSTRALIA AIR SERVICE.

    TODAY MR. TURNER, WHO IS CHIEF EXECUTIVE AND GENERAL MANAGER, HAS A STAFF OF 6,900 AND QANTAS NOW LINKS AUSTRALIA WITH 26 COUNTRIES ON FIVE CONTINENTS.

    GUESTS AT THE DINNER ALSO INCLUDED SIR ERIC HARRISON, AUSTRALIAN HIGH COMMISSIONER IN LONDON.
