    AT PRESENT, PLANS CALL FOR A SPACECRAFT WHICH WILL CARRY A TWO-MAN "BUG" VEHICLE TO WITHIN A SHORT DISTANCE OF THE MOON.THE CREW WILL DETACH THE BUG FROM THE SPACECRAFT TO CARRY OUT THEIR EXPLORATION ON THE MOON, AND THEN RENDEZVOUS WITH THE SPACECRAFT FOR THE RETURN JOURNEY TO THE EARTH.

    AT BALTIMORE, MARYLAND, TECHNICIANS ARE BUILDING A MODEL OF THE "BUG" VEHICLE TO PERFECT THE TECHNIQUE OF "DOCKING" (ATTACHING) THE VEHICLE TO THE SPACECRAFT FOR THE RETURN JOURNEY.

    FILM SHOWS A SIMULATED OPERATION OF THE "BUG" AND NOSE CONE NEARING EACH OTHER, AND BEING DOCKED.IT WAS WATCHED BY ASTRONAUT LIEUT.CO.JOHN GLENN, FIRST AMERICAN TO ORBIT THE EARTH, AND THE TRAINEE ASTRONAUTS CHARLES CONRAD JR., ELLIOT SEE AND JAMES LOVELL.

    IT IS ONE OF THE ENGINEERING STUDIES BEING UNDERTAKEN FOR THE NATIONAL AERONAUTICS AND SPACE ADMINISTRATION (NASA) WHICH IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE AMERICAN SPACE EXPLORATION PROGRAMME.
