    THE THIRTY-TWO MEMBERS OF THE OXFORD CIVIL RIGHTS CAMPAIGN PLANNED TO MARCH THROUGH THE CITY TO STORMONT, THE NORTHERN IRELAND PARLIAMENT, TO HAND IN A PETITION. AFTER THEIR ARRIVAL THEY CALLED OFF THE MARCH, WHICH HAD BEEN ??? BY THE HOME OFFICE.

    THEY WERE MET WHEN THEY ARRIVED BY OPPOSITION GROUPS WITH PLACARDS READING 'OXFORD GO HOME' AND WHEN THE STUDENTS HELD A MEETING OUTSIDE THE BELFAST CITY HALL, ??? PROTESTANTS WAVING UNION JACKS HELD A RIVAL DEMONSTRATION ACROSS THE STREET.

    BOTH GROUPS THEM MOVED OFF TO THE PRECINCTS OF QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY.

    THREE HUNDRED POLICE STOOD BY DURING THE DEMONSTRATIONS, BUT THERE WERE ONLY MINOR SCUFFLES BETWEEN THE GROUPS.
