UNTIL RECENTLY, THE 38-YEAR-OLD TIGER WAS A PHYSICAL TRAINING INSTRUCTOR IN THE BIAFRAN ARMY.

    TIGER SAID RECENTLY THAT HE WOULD REFUSE TO ENTER A RING IN FUTURE "IF THE NIGERIAN NATIONAL ANTHEM IS PLAYED BEFORE ANY OF MY FIGHTS". THE BIAFRAN NATIONAL ANTHEM MUST BE PLAYED INSTEAD, HE SAID. TIGER COMES FROM BIAFRA'S ORLU PROVINCE, WHERE THE SUPERVISES TRAINING CAMPS IN THE JUNGLE HELPING TO PREPARE BIAFRAN SOLDIERS FOR THEIR STRUGGLE AGAINST THE NIGERIAN FEDERAL FORCES TRYING TO BEAK BIAFRA'S SECESSION.

    THE CHAMPION SAYS HIS TRAINING OF BIAFRAN ARMY RECRUITS, WHICH HE ENJOYS VERY MUCH, HAS ALSO HELPED HIM KEEP FIT. HOWEVER, HE MUST BE IN NEW YORK ABOUT THE MIDDLE OF THIS MONTH TO COMMENCE TRAINING FOR HIS FIGHT WITH FOSTER WHO HE IS CONFIDENT OF BEATING. AS WELL AS HELPING TO TRAIN THE RECRUITS, TIGER -- WHO HOLDS THE RANK OF SECOND LIEUTENANT IN THE BIAFRAN ARMY -- ALSO LIKES TO VISIT HOSPITALS TO HELP CHEER WOUNDED BIAFRAN SOLDIERS.
